Personal Work
"To me, photography has never been just a career—it’s a passion where every job is a reward. My personal work is a celebration of that passion, offering me the freedom to experiment and express the visual stories I find most meaningful."
A curated selection of personal fine art photography with a common theme of nature and beauty. These works are quiet observations of the world around me driven by personal inspiration.
Selected Works
Rows of rusted cars stretch like metallic fossils across an unkept field, their flaking paint, weathered chrome and rusting textures whispering stories from ages long past. I first spotted the museum from the highway by an improbable sight…an ancient transport airplane perched atop a tall pole! This collection is an observation of an era where design in motor vehicles was an art, where each hood ornament, cracked window, and sagging bumper reflects its own quiet dignity.

"At the foothills of the Swartberg mountains lies the Red Stone Hills, a landscape unique in South Africa for its striking blood-red conglomerates. These geological formations date back 130 million years, providing a dramatic, prehistoric backdrop for an exploration of both land and life in the Klein Karoo. This series is a study of contrasts: the enduring, ancient red stone set against the lived-in faces of the local farmers and workers whose heritage is woven into this rugged terrain. It is a dual portrait of a timeless environment and the resilient characters who call it home."

Deep within the rugged folds of the Cederberg mountains lies Wupperthal, a remote mission station where life follows a rhythm largely unchanged by the outside world. This documentary series, captures the essence of a community shaped by isolation and resilience, exploring the daily lives of those who navigate its dusty streets and historic architecture.

Captured over a two-year period, Simmonds Street is a documentary study of the characters inhabiting a Salvation Army men’s hostel. It offers a raw yet empathetic look at life within the hostel, documenting the quiet dignity and individuality of its residents.
First exhibited as a solo exhibition at the Market Theatre Gallery, Johannesburg 1988.

I began exploring mobile photography with a Nokia N73 in 2006 a year before the first iPhone was even released; I immediately recognized the potential of having a capable camera within reach. Today’s mobile sensors offer incredible quality, but the true advantage remains the same, the phone is far less intrusive than a traditional camera. People are naturally more relaxed, allowing for a level of spontaneity and candor that is difficult to capture otherwise. These images are a testament to that speed and ease, and shows that your "eye" for a good photo doesn't depend on having the most expensive modern camera!
