About

Trevor Samson is a Cape Town-based photographer with a career spanning over 45 years. After beginning his career at the Rand Daily Mail and The Star, he spent eight years leading the photographic coverage for Agence France-Presse (AFP) in South Africa, documenting the historic transition from apartheid to democracy between 1985 and 1992.

His award-winning work from this period was published globally in titles including Time, Newsweek, and The New York Times. Now a versatile freelance photographer, Trevor works across Africa for editorial and corporate clients, specializing in portraiture, documentary projects, and agricultural research. Beyond his commercial practice, he leads photographic workshops and exhibits his personal work.

Currently, Trevor devotes the majority of his time to Trevors Pet Photography, a specialised creative venture focused on high-end pet photography and cinematic videography that captures the unique bond between animals and their owners.
