"For fifty years, the camera has been my constant companion—a tool for observation, a witness to history, and a medium for quiet reflection. In COLLECTIONS, I have gathered …………… images that are meaningful to my journey. These are not merely photographs; they are moments that hold a special place for me. From high-pressure assignments for the international press to private studies in my own backyard, each image here represents a specific 'way of seeing.' Below, I share the stories behind the frames—not just what was happening in front of the lens, but why these particular moments continue to resonate with me decades later."
Watching the southeaster wind blowing the spray off incoming waves has always held a fascination for me, over many years of walking the dog along the beach.
This photograph of that scene captured on my phone camera, although blurred and full of digital artefacts, somehow says more to me than a perfectly taken photograph on a proper camera, that shows all the detail frozen in a technically perfect way. It’s more a feeling than an explanation that Im talking about here.
What would you say to that?
Does a photograph have to be perfect in its imperfection……..
